So often I hear… I could never do the Shaklee Business like you do… I’m not a good sales person. Well #1… if that was true, I wouldn’t be in Shaklee either, because I’m certainly not a sales person by any means and #2…when you go see a really good movie or eat in a really good restaurant, do you tell your friends about it? Do you share it on Facebook? Of course you do and that is all I do with Shaklee… I love their products and they make me feel really good and all I do is share my experiences… just like I do when I see a good movie or find a good restaurant… and by the way… the movie theater or the restaurant won’t pay you for the referral, but guess what… Shaklee does. Anyone can do this and you don’t have to be a Sales Person.
Another way to build your Shaklee Business is with Attraction Marketing… OK, so you’re wondering what the heck is “attraction marketing”? Well, you’re going to have to become educated with whatever products you are marketing… it could be cooking, sewing, nutrition, gas grills… whatever. So keep reading to see Attraction Marketing at work.
The other night, I was checking out a network marketing forum that I occasionally visit, and their was a guy on there who had recently bought Mike Dillard’s book, Magnetic Sponsoring, but was having some difficulty with what exactly the concept of attraction marketing really is. It’s something that, as a broad concept, is really easy to understand but in case you maybe having some difficulty with it or if you’ve never heard of attraction marketing before, here’s a simple analogy that you can use to share it with your friends.
Imagine for a second that you just moved into a new house across the country from where you currently lived. While the movers are unloading the truck, you hear a knock at the front door. When you open the door, you see a nice lady standing there, smiling, who introduces herself as your new neighbor, Kaetlin. After some of small talk about where you moved from, Kaetlin welcomes you to the neighborhood and hands you a little housewarming gift – a basket with a couple of ceramic coffee mugs and a couple boxes of Cinch Energy Tea with a few hot and cold tea recipes and a box of cinnamon sticks.
Hey, I live in Holland, NY!! …I could have gone with sun screen, beach towels and some Cold Delicious Cinch Iced Tea or something like that… if I was lucky enough to live in Miami or Honolulu : )
About a week later, you’re in your back yard walking the dog and trying to keep warm, while sniffling and coughing the whole time. Just then you notice Kaetlin out in her yard… feeding the birds, whistling, playing with her dog Aragorn and happy as can be. Kaetlin gives you a friendly wave and asks if you’re all settled in the new house? You say… yes, everything is going good, accept I came down with this aweful cold and my doctor said there was nothing I really could do about it accept get some rest and wait it out. Kaetlin smiles and says “I’m sorry to here you are sick… what did your doctor charge you to tell you that? hey listen, I have a part bottle left of something called Defend and Resist“. She runs in the house quick and comes out with the bottle and hands it to you and says, “take 2 of these now and take 2 before you go to bed… and then take 2 with breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow and take them with a hot cup of that Cinch Energy Tea I gave you… I know you’ll feel much better tomorrow, but let me know if you’re not OK?
On a side note, is anyone getting thirsty for some Hot or Cold Tea yet? I know I am… I’ll be right back…
OK, I’m back, every once in a while you notice that Kaetlin is always throwing out an amazing “secret recipe” or “health tip” on something related to natural health and no matter what, Kaetlin always has tips and suggestions when someone is not feeling well… in fact, my nephew had diarreah when he was about 1 and Kaetlin recommended some Probiotics and it was cleared up in 3 days, and you’ve also seen some of your neighbors going to Kaetlin with their health questions too, so in the back of your mind you start to think of Kaetlin as the neighborhood “expert” on health and nutrition.
So the time comes when you’re ready to get rid of those extra pounds you’ve packed on over the holidays. You’re really not sure what to do… you’ve tried other diets, never lost much weight, and you are concerned about your cholesterol and high blood pressure. The only thing is that you’re not exactly sure what to eat and where to start. That’s when your sub-conscious says, “ask Kaetlin”
So you find yourself doing what you’ve seen many of your neighbors do and you go next door to Kaetlin’s house hoping she can give you some good advise.
“Hey Kaetlin, I’m looking to start the new year off right and I want to lose weight and start living healthier, and I was wondering if you could give me an idea or some advise, where to start?” Kaetlin smiles at you and says, “No problem.” She reaches into her back pocket, pulls out a business card and hands it to you.
What do you think the business card says? To your shock and amazement, the card reads, “Busy Moms Living Healthy with Kaetlin’s Natural Nutrition and Weight Loss Products”.
Do you see what she did here? Kaetlin has been practicing attraction marketing from the very beginning:
- The Energy Tea as a housewarming gift
- The bottle of Defend and Resist to help with your cold
- The free advice
- Helping her neighbors to establish herself as an expert
Kaetlin nailed the basic principles that are talked about in Magnetic Sponsoring, and she hasn’t even plugged in network marketing!
What if Kaetlin would have jumped down your throat on the first day she met you and handed you a business card and tried to tell you all about her Natural Health Company? My guess is that you would not have ever done business with her if had she tried to “prospect” you from the very beginning, or at least the relationship with her would likely have not have been the same.
Would you say that’s accurate?
The idea behind attraction marketing is you become friends and give real value to your new friend over a period of time. When you become the expert to your friend and she tells a neighbor and another friend.. it will begin to grow and you will become the expert in your group or community.
Very successful marketers online today use attraction marketing in sites like: Facebook, Twitter, Your Blog, YouTube, etc. by giving valuable content to their followers and friends and building up that trust and friendship, and eventually standout in the mind of their followers and friends as a trusted, go to person for advise. Once you have the friendship and trust established… they will be happy to do everything you are doing and recommending.
